Welcome to Angela Writes!
There was a time when I was a certified personal trainer. I love talking and writing about fitness and I always will. But I had to learn the hard way that being an online trainer is not for me.
When I was trying to “break into” the online fitness market, I felt like a big huge failure. And a fraud.
I could write a blog post that connected.
I learned how to get the “Likes” on Facebook and Instagram by writing the stories that exhausted Stay at Home Moms like me wanted – and needed – to hear.
But perfecting *just the right* blog post, Facebook update, or Instagram blurb became my obsession.
And then there was my website. I could spend days working on my website, just for fun!
After all that money and time that I had put into my fitness education, I fell in love with writing.
That’s right – I was far more in love with writing than I ever was with fitness.
I didn’t want to train clients. I wanted to write. All the time.
So what did I do? I decided to help other fitness trainers tell their stories and share their information in a way that really connects with their readers.
Because, if I’ve learned one thing by reading other fitness professional’s websites, not ALL good trainers are good writers.
And of course, not all writers have been educated in fitness.
Me? I can do both.
More than just dish out information, I want to tell a story and I want you and your reader to understand exactly what I’m saying, feel what I’m feeling, and I’d like to think that what I’ve said might actually stick with you for more than half a minute.
Stories are what connect us. When you get to know me and find out what makes me tick, you learn that I’m not just a regular person.
In fact, no one is simply a “regular” person. We’re all incredibly individual and unique.
And that is so cool!
I’m always looking for a common bond between people.
Because it’s not things that make the difference. It’s people, which is hard to admit because I’m an introvert! I also like chocolate, kettlebells, yoga, and walking. I hate cold weather and I love summer!
When I’m not writing, I’m taking care of my 2 dogs and 5 kids, but not in that order. Usually.
If you have a story to share or even if you don’t know what your story is, I want to hear it. I can help you discover your story. Your story shapes you and it affects everyone around you and everything you do.
Sometimes that’s good, and sometimes it’ll take a fresh perspective to help you figure out how to look at your story differently; in a way that can help you or someone else.
And if you’re reading this, your story, along with my story, has not yet been finished. That too is a good thing.
Thanks for being here.
